As Porridge They are already on every decent breakfast table, but as a soup, oatmeal has to fight against prejudices.
Is it because of the name? We make a big promise: the gruel soup is not only soothing and filling, but also delicious.
This is how you make the strengthening oat gruel soup
- For one portion of the stomach-friendly basic recipe, put 60 grams of oat flakes, 3 deciliters of water and a pinch of salt in a small pot and bring the whole thing to the boil briefly, stirring constantly.
- Then simmer the oatmeal over medium heat until it has the desired consistency – the longer it simmers, the harder and mushy it becomes. 25 minutes is a good guideline.
Tip: It becomes tastier if you replace the water with vegetable broth.
The brave ones fry onions in butter, then toast the oat flakes in it and pour vegetable broth over them. Then simmer, simmer and simmer again until the creamy slime forms. Season with salt and nutmeg.
If you like, add fried vegetables (zucchini, tomatoes, eggplant, carrots, mushrooms, celery, fennel) as a topping.
