Birch, grass or hazel: If you react allergic to pollen, you can find out about the pollen in your area in the “warning weather” app of the German Weather Service (DWD). This requires the full version, which costs 2.49 euros (iOS and Android).
“The concentrations of the pollen of Hasel, Erle, Birch and Grassers will be displayed for the next six days,” says the DWD. The pollen flight forecast covers all of Germany. Pollen are among the most common triggers of allergies.
Goal: better deal with the allergy
In addition, there is a daily report by the DWD in the app, which shows the pollen pollution for a total of eight very allergenic pollen species (hazel, alder, birch, grass, ash, rye, mugwort and ambrosia) and the influence of the weather on the pollen flight.
According to the DWD, further information and interesting facts on the subject of pollen allergies are planned in the app. This should help those affected to deal with the disease better. For example, it makes sense to adapt to the pollen flight when planning outdoor activities.
There are also alternatives
The “warning weather app” of the DWD is by no means the only way to find out about the pollen flight. There is also the free app “Pollen+” (iOS and Android) of the Foundation for German Pollen Information Service. It also offers an allergy diary in which symptoms can be recorded.
