Susi Lehmann (38), well -known ultra runner and influencer on Instagramhas radically changed your training in the past few months. Known for her extraordinary perseverance, she is now surprising with a new combination of strength training, Hyrox and Ultratrails.
“As an ultra -runner, no more than 60 km per week?” Lehmann asks provocatively in hers Latest Instagram post. “In the past 3 months I have really changed my training radically. From ‘I just run’ to ‘I do strength training, Hyrox and run ultratrails’.”
Why the change?
For Lehmann it was a two -track approach. “On the one hand, I found fun with the Hyrox, on the other hand, pure running or endurance training is no longer an option for me in the long run,” she explains. Hyrox is a functional fitness competition format that combines endurance and strength when overcoming obstacles – perfect for everyone who is looking for new challenges.

The importance of strength training
Lehmann is firmly convinced that strength training not only prevents injuries and increases performance, but also an investment in healthy aging. “I want to have a healthy and stable body and of course still be able to run in old age. Especially as a woman, strength training is so important.” It emphasizes how important it is to counter the natural breakdown of muscle mass from the age of 30, otherwise problems such as restricted mobility can occur in old age.
Quality before quantity
Less is sometimes more. Lehmann has drastically reduced the number of its kilometers and is now focusing on high -quality training sessions. No more “Junk Miles, but a varied training,” she says.
Support is the key
In order to optimally implement your new training plan, Lehmann got professional support. Paula Thomsen, known as @laufernartsupports them and adapts the plan individually to Lehmann’s needs and living conditions. “I know that the topic of strength training can be overwhelming at the beginning. Where should I start? What should I do? How do I best integrate it into my running training?”
Appeal to the community
The ultra runner encourages her followers to start with strength training, whether with or without a coach. “Start with it, because I can assure you that it is not only good for health, but is also really fun.” And the positive results are not long in coming: “You can also see that improvements can be felt after a few months.”
