This is how you make the giant cinnamon roll
- Mix the flour with baking powder, salt, sugar, dry yeast as well as warm milk and melted butter. Then knead the dough well and let it rise covered in a warm place for about an hour.
- After the dough has risen, take it out of the bowl and knead it well again.
- Roll it out into a rectangle about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat the butter until it becomes nice and soft and then mix it with cinnamon and brown sugar to form a creamy mixture.
- Then spread the mixture over the rolled out dough.
- Now take a pizza roller or a knife and cut the dough into four strips of approximately the same width.
- Roll up the first strip and place the roll on top of the second strip and roll that up too. Repeat the process for the third and fourth strips until you have giant snails in your hands.
- Grease a springform pan or a cast iron pan (approx. 25.5 cm in diameter) well with a little butter, place the cinnamon roll in it and bake it for 45 minutes at 160 °C in a fan oven.
- After the cinnamon roll has baked and cooled, you can take care of the frosting. To do this, mix the powdered sugar with butter, cream cheese, vanilla and milk and finally garnish the cinnamon roll with the sweet mixture.
