Nutrition experts have examined the most important nutritional trends for 2025. The new trend report from Nutrition Hub shows that our diet will be sustainable, healthy and technology -based in the future. The report is based on the assessments of 199 experts from various areas of the nutrition sector. According to these experts, nutrition becomes increasingly an expression of identity, responsibility and future design.
“The transformation on our plates has started – and it tastes fantastic,” says an expert.
1. From the sausage counter to the vegetable shelf: plant -based diet on the advance
One of the most important trends is plant -hugging and flexitarian nutrition. 82 percent of the experts surveyed see this trend in the upswing. It is not about strict prohibitions, but about an enjoyable mix of a lot of vegetable and occasionally some meat. This diet has both health benefits, such as a lower risk of chronic diseases and ecological advantages.
The food industry reacts to this trend with innovations and optimizes herbal alternatives. “The trend towards a plant -hugging diet seems to have come to stay,” explain the experts.
2. Personalized nutrition: tailor -made health solutions

Personalized nutrition is becoming an important trend in the health sector. 69 percent of the experts surveyed predict further growth in this area. Modern health-tech tools such as apps and wearables can be recorded and creates nutritional solutions. In particular, the focus is on women’s health.
“This development is more than a short -lived trend – it marks a sustainable change in the healthcare industry,” said the experts.
3. Sustainable and climate -friendly nutrition: conscious self -care
With 64 percent of the respondents, sustainable and climate -friendly nutrition ends up in third place in trend movements. “A little climate protection, a little self-car” is the motto. Young people and families in particular value regional and seasonal products and are interested in their own cultivation. Agriculture also adapts and builds new cultures such as quinoa or sweet potatoes.
“The motivation for sustainable nutrition is now feeding from a combination of climate protection, health awareness and the willingness to take responsibility,” explain the experts.
4. Functional nutrition: self -optimization through conscious nutrition
The lunevity trend, i.e. the extension of the healthy lifespan by conscious nutrition and lifestyle decisions, is another important trend. Functional food and nutritional supplements are booming, even if experts point out that they are usually unnecessary. Especially in younger people, health increasingly merges with aesthetic ideals and performance increase.
“While the trend towards self -optimization reflects the health awareness of society, the question of the sustainability of this development arises,” said the experts.
5. Darmes: From taboo to the trend
59 percent of the experts surveyed see intestinal health as a growing nutritional trend. The intestine is increasingly perceived as a central switch for our entire well -being. Fermented foods, pro and prebiotics are more in demand than ever.
“Many people are increasingly interested in homemade probiotic products such as yogurt and the positive effects of buttermilk or kefir on intestinal health,” explain the experts.

6. Blood sugar under control: self -determined health optimization
The blood sugar -friendly nutrition increasingly becomes the focus of people. 51 percent of the experts surveyed see this trend very much. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), originally developed for people with diabetes, is increasingly being used for health -conscious people. “People are more interested in their metabolic processes and want to actively help shape them,” explains Birgit Blumenschein, dietician and diploma teacher.
7. Alcohol -free drinks: The new stars of the drinks menu
Alcohol-free drinks mix the bar scene: every second person with expertise sees a growing trend here. Alcohol loses importance in health -conscious circles. “It no longer needs percentages for a successful evening,” said the experts.
8. Terrapy: The return to your own
44 percent of experts expect the trend of “Terrapy” trend, i.e. the return to make it yourself and natural. “The trend towards making food yourself goes far beyond grandma’s cuisine,” explain the experts. People are increasingly emphasizing natural foods and short ingredients.
9. Snacking 2.0: The new eating culture
Snacking develops to respond to everyday hectic life. “Snackification” describes the development away from three main meals towards more flexible, smaller and high -quality meals throughout the day. “This new eating culture corresponds to the need for quick but healthy nutritional options in everyday life,” said the experts.
10. Mindfulness and education: facts and fakes
In an increasingly hectic world, the trend towards mindfulness is also growing in nutrition. It is about conscious food without distraction and appreciation for food. Mindfulness is closely linked to nutritional education. “Nutritional education promotes the understanding of the health and ecological effects of food and stimulates the reflection of one’s own eating behavior,” said the experts.
The Trendreport Nutrition 2025 is based on the assessments of 199 experts from various areas of the nutrition sector. In the period from October 14th to 25th, 2024, the experts from the Nutrition Hub and the funding partner were able to take part in the survey. The results show that more and more people are ready for change – towards conscious enjoyment and independent health decisions.
