The smell of roasted nuts immediately puts you in the Christmas market mood. But if roasted almonds are too boring for you or you don’t have any almonds at home, you can also use walnuts.
These give the classic a special taste. You can easily prepare roasted walnuts yourself at home. For the winter mood we add some cinnamon.

- 160g white sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 80ml water
- 200g walnuts

- First, prepare a tray with baking paper.
- Mix the sugar with the vanilla sugar. Put the sugar mixture in a pan and pour water over it so that all the sugar is covered. Now heat the stove on medium-high heat until the sugar boils.

- Stir again and again until the sugar crystallizes. This can take several minutes. When the sugar has crystallized and sticks to the nuts, they are ready.
