Those who don’t eat breakfast, on the other hand, are often prone to cravings. If you haven’t eaten enough during the day, your body will try to compensate for this deficit.

“If you don’t eat, you’re disrupting your hunger hormones, which will cause you to overeat throughout the day.”

Skipping breakfast also reduces concentration and productivity. In the long term, it can even promote deficiency symptoms and chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

For these reasons, you should eat breakfast every day – if possible within the first two hours of getting up. “The sooner you eat breakfast when you wake up, the better it is for your metabolism,” says Larson.

The nutritionist recommends eating fresh fruit with muesli and low-fat milk or hard-boiled eggs. But porridge or home-made smoothies are also rich in nutrients and minerals, says Larson.
