If you don’t have one Tumble dryer then you are probably familiar with the problem of long drying times.
Especially in the apartment, hanging laundry dries very slowly, takes up space, disrupts the appearance of the room and, above all, the moisture settles on the walls.
Reading tip
If you don’t ventilate enough, in the worst case scenario this can lead to mold in the rooms. If you have the opportunity, you should put your laundry out – even in frost and temperatures below zero.
Does laundry freeze outside in winter?
Contrary to popular belief, laundry dries particularly well in the winter air. This is because humidity plays a bigger role in drying than you think.
Basically, the water in the laundry freezes outside due to the low temperatures in winter. The water then changes its physical state from solid to gaseous.
Now the air absorbs the moisture from the laundry, as the winter air has a lower humidity and thus strives to balance the concentration.
If you dry your laundry in winter, you should also be careful, as your clothes are susceptible to cracks and breaks when they are still icy.
